Join The Student Union at HSDC South Downs

Unloc is working with the college to re-launch the Student Union at HSDC South Downs Campus!

We believe and invest in the importance of student voice. This means hearing what impacts college life for young people from the students themselves!

Start by watching the video below to hear from former HSDC students.

What is a Student Union?

A student union is a student led organisation that works to represent the interests and needs of the student body. The Student Union can lead in lots of different ways which can include:

  • Lobbying the college’s leadership to make changes in-college
  • Running events to bring together the student body
  • Campaigning on issues that students care about
  • Advocating for individual students with issues and challenges
  • Representing the student body at community events
  • Engaging with other student unions across the country
  • Speaking to Government about education policy
  • Fundraising for charities and other causes
