PLACE Audit at Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS Foundation Trust
Would you like to be more involved with you local community, mental health and learning disability NHS Trust? Would you like to use your experiences
as a patient or family member of a patient to help us improve?
Following on from previous years successful inspections the Trust would again like to invite local people for our PLACE (Patient Lead Assessment of the Care Environment) assessments. The assessments will be taking place from the beginning of September to the end of November 2024.
PLACE inspections let local people visit hospitals as part of a team to assess how the environment supports patients in a number of different ways: privacy and dignity, food and hydration, cleanliness, general building condition, maintenance and appearance, dementia requirements and disability.
PLACE Inspections take place across a range of areas including secure services like Ravenswood House near Fareham, local community hospitals like Alton and Gosport War Memorial Hospital, and specialised services like Antelope House in Southampton, Melbury Lodge in Winchester and Elmleigh in Havant.
No previous experience is necessary, but you should have an interest in seeing our sites through the eyes of a patient. Commitment would range from a few hours only to a number of days if you wish – the choice would be yours.
Training will be given.
If you would like to be involved you can contact the PLACE team using the details below.

We would really enjoy working with you!
