Are you living in Portsmouth or the surrounding areas, aged 14 – 20 and passionate about Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Racial Justice, develop your campaigning skills, & learning how to impact & drive positive change? Then we have the opportunity for you!!

Our I AM Programme is back!!

Launched in 2022, the I AM: Programme seeks to empower passionate young people to make change within their communities, particularly around the themes of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). Run in collaboration with Verizon Business, this free programme aims to create a safe space for young people to explore their identity, and identify social issues within their communities that they’d like to change.

Over the course of the programme, you will meet like-minded individuals to begin exploring and designing a campaign to address a current issue within their societal context. This could be anything from racism, gender equity, disability advocacy, mental health awareness, support for the LGBSTQ+ community and so much more! At the end, you will then get the chance to apply for up to £1000 to bring your campaign to life!

These dates will also include EDI and social justice workshops and theory sessions; networking opportunities with guest speakers and activists, and campaigning masterclasses, thereby enabling you to better understand power and influence in your communities and make lasting change. The programme ends with a fun and exciting activity day to celebrate the progress and hard-work you have put in. The activity day will be chosen by you as a group too!

The course will be starting again in Spring 2025 and the dates are below.

The dates for the programme are:

Wednesday 9th April, Thursday 10th April and Friday 11th April (all in Easter Holidays)

Saturday 26th April 2025

Saturday 3rd May and Sunday 4th May 2025

All sessions run from 10.00 am – 2.30 pm at the Unloc Changemaker Studios, Portsmouth Guildhall, Guildhall Square, PO1 2AB.

Spaces are very limited for this programme and are allocated first come, first serve. This is a very popular programme that is over subscribed every year! The cost of travel can also be supported by us too!
