£500 Health & Wellbeing Grants
We are thrilled to announce that our Health & Wellbeing Grants are available again for 2025/26!
Apply now for £500 to help improve health and wellbeing for people in Hampshire & the Isle of Wight! We are looking for passionate young people, aged 13-21, who have an idea to help improve health & wellbeing for people in Hampshire & the Isle of Wight. Whether you are passionate about tackling mental health stigma; fed up with people vaping; love sport and want to get more people active; have your own experience of a health condition or disability and want to help others like you, or just have a great idea to help improve health and wellbeing – we want to hear from you!
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are offering five young people support and funding to make a positive difference to their community.
Who can apply?
If you are aged 13-21 and live, work or study in Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton, New Forest or Isle of Wight you can apply. You can apply individually, with a friend or as part of a group you are part of (for example your School Council, Youth Group, or Student Union)
What will I get?
If your application is successful you will receive the following support and funding to help you make your idea a reality:
- £500 to spend on making a positive difference to people’s health and wellbeing in Hampshire
- 1:1 support from Unloc to deliver your project
- Access to Unloc’s Portsmouth based office and resource bank
- A chance to share & celebrate your project with NHS decision makers
What you need
- Passion for making a difference!
The number one thing we are looking for is young people who want to make a difference! It’s your passion (as well time, energy and commitment) that will turn your project from just an idea into a reality.
- A great BUT realistic idea
Whatever your idea – it should be realistic to deliver in your spare time before 31st July 2026 and achievable for the £500 grant budget.
- Time
How and when you work on your project is up to you – so you can fit it in around your other commitments. As a guide, we recommend you are able to spend about 20 hours working on your project. This is about 1hr a week for 3 months. You will also need to attend a 30 minute check-in with your mentor at Unloc (in person or online) once a month. - Good communication
It’s important you communicate with your mentor, attend monthly check-ins, and keep them updated with how you are getting on with your project. If you are struggling with your project they will be able to offer help and advise.
Get Inspired!
Take a look at last year’s projects. Last year we funded the following projects: a British Sign Language Club, Wellbeing Chickens at Romsey School, health and wellbeing activities at GENsNYC Youth Club, a Cross Hampshire Mental Health Creation Day led by Hampshire Youth Parliament and a Cultural Celebration Day.
Watch the video to see what The Romsey School Pupil Wellbeing Ambassadors did with their £500 grant.
Need more inspiration? A great starting point is thinking about what would help you or those close to you to improve their health or wellbeing. Some of the best ideas come from our personal experiences so this is a great place to start. Then – be creative! We are looking for unique ideas and creative solutions to the problems people face looking after their health and wellbeing.
