5-day traineeship, running between 27th – 31st May 2024, teaching furniture making and design skills.

This opportunity is well suited to learners interested in woodworking, design, construction and architecture, looking for the first steps towards employability in design and making or looking to pursue practical learning in this field.

The traineeship is open to young people aged 16-25 years with priority given to those living and or studying in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. We welcome applications from those currently not in education, employment or training.

Applicants are asked to commit to the whole week, Monday to Friday between 10am-4.30pm, and will be expected to have good attendance and commitment to the process.

The traineeship will include:

• Making a timber stool with a woven cane seat
• A site visit to one of our partners
• Career guidance with Goldfinger’s designer-makers to learn about careers in woodworking and design
• Two free lunches (on Monday and Friday)
