The Future Leaders Network is offering you the opportunity to have your voice heard by G7 leaders in 2021!
The G7 (Group of 7) is a gathering of world leaders from seven of the most advanced nations (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States, with the European Union holding a permanent seat). It meets annually to discuss solutions to the most pressing shared issues. In 2021, the U.K. hosts the G7 Presidency and the Leaders’ Summit will be hosted on 11 – 13 June, in Carbis Bay, Cornwall.
Ahead of the Leaders’ Summit, young leaders from each of the G7 states will assemble to develop, negotiate, and propose policy recommendations on behalf of young people to present to Heads of State. This process is known as the Y7 and is being hosted by the Future Leaders Network in 2021. The Y7 Summit will take place in early May 2021. It is a unique opportunity to champion the voice of young people at the highest level of international decision making.
We want you to be a part of this! We are seeking the views of up to 10,000 young people (aged 16 – 30) from all backgrounds and all parts of the U.K. We want to know what you think are the biggest issues of today and of the future, and the actions you want to see G7 leaders take. This will directly inform the recommendations the U.K. young leaders make to G7 leaders.
Click here to take your seat #atthetable – you can fill in our survey, attend a focus group, or both! The survey ends on 14 March, and focus groups will run until the end of March. There will be loads of ways for you to continue to get involved over the next few months so please check the Future Leaders Network website for further updates!
