Festival of Student Governance 2023

Festival of Student Governance 2023

The biggest Student Governor event of the year – develop your skills, knowledge, connect with peers and hear from inspiring speakers.

5.30pm, Monday 13th November 2023 – 4.00pm, Tuesday 14th November 2023: ICC Birmingham

Reserve your place now for the dynamic Festival of Student Governance 2023, held at the Association of Colleges National Conference in Birmingham! Unloc in partnership with the Association of Colleges organise this unique opportunity each year to bring together student governors from across the UK to connect with each other, learn and develop skills, hear from inspiring speakers and engage with FE policy.

What To Expect

Participants will develop their confidence, knowledge and support network. As part of the experience, participants will attend workshops that will focus on key skills and practical knowledge for governance, meet and network with Governance professionals, principals and other student governors from around the country and take part in AoC Annual Conference sessions and break outs.

Student governors will leave feeling supported, inspired and empowered to deliver positive influence and change on their return to college.

To achieve the above, our dynamic conference also includes an overnight stay in hotel accommodation, inspiring guest speakers and a structured networking dinner. Student governors’ attendance at the event will also recognise your college’s continued commitment to providing the very best support and training to your governors.

The Programme

Delegates will check into the Ibis Birmingham New Street Hotel from 5.30pm on Monday 13th November. At 7pm that evening there will be a networking dinner event where all attendees can meet, get to know each other, enjoy a meal and hear from our inspirational guest speakers.

The next morning on Tuesday 14th November, delegates will enjoy breakfast, then head to the Birmingham International Convention Centre for a 9am – 4pm conference event, filled with engaging workshops, training, lunch, guest speakers and immersive activities – including taking part in key components of the Association of College’s Annual Conference. A full programme brochure will be emailed to all participants at least two weeks before the event kicks off.
