Volunteering is a familiar concept to most people but not something that people spend much time actively thinking about. This course provides the opportunity to really think about what volunteering actually means including the different types of volunteering and who volunteers are. It’s also an opportunity to consider the impact volunteering has, not just on volunteers themselves but also the benefits to the organisations that facilitate volunteering as well as wider society.
Finally, this course looks deeper into some real-life examples of volunteering through video case studies, thereby busting some widespread myths about volunteering, and provides actionable advice on how to become a volunteer yourself.
This course is sponsored by the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Community Foundation via the National Emergencies Trust.
