For young people today, it is more important than ever that they are well equipped to enter the workforce. Unemployment is becoming an even greater issue facing young people. In spite of relevant qualifications obtained in their chosen field; many employers will look for work experience on an application or CV as it helps young people prepare for the world of work and build on valuable skills which can be transferred from one job to another.

Welcome to this course exploring the skills you need in the world of work. Whether you already have a part time job, have some work experience under your belt or have never had a job before; it’s important to equip young people like yourselves with the necessary skills to enter the workforce.

Unemployment is becoming an even greater issue facing young people. In spite of having all the relevant qualifications, many employers will look for work experience on an application or Curriculum Vitae or will ask you to demonstrate that you understand and have the necessary skills for the world of work.

This course aims to support you in not only recognising which skills are most desirable among employers, but how you can build on them day to day.
